The most iconic landmark in Los Angeles and it won't cost you a dime. Perched on the south slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, the Observatory offers jaw-dropping panoramic views of the LA basin, the Hollywood Sign, and on clear days, the Pacific Ocean. The Art Deco building is a masterpiece β featured in everything from Rebel Without a Cause to La La Land. Inside you'll find fascinating astronomy exhibits, a Tesla coil demonstration, the Foucault pendulum, and the Samuel Oschin Planetarium (shows are $7 and absolutely worth it). The rooftop observation deck at sunset is one of the most romantic spots in the city. The hiking trails around the Observatory connect to the Hollywood Sign trail. Free parking is limited so arrive early or take the DASH shuttle from the Greek Theatre lot. Whether you're into science, architecture, views, or just want to stand where Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone danced, Griffith Observatory delivers every single time.</p>
